the 1st Seoul International women film festival

“Let’s see the world as the eye of the woman” was the catchphrase of SIWFF. There were also mottos such as "for the woman, by the women, about the women". This was its second start as an international film festival after the "Pusan International Film Festival" was established in Korea in 1996. It is the largest women’s film festival in the world. It was operated by the every-other system until its second year, when it became an annual event from the third year (1996). On the ninth film festival in 2007, a queer rainbow section was formed, and the English name was changed from the "International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul" to "SEOUL International Women's Film Festival."
